A day In Rome: Coliseum & Vatican with lunch

Journey Through Millennia: From Imperial Rome to Vatican City
Experience the essence of Rome in one day, traversing through ancient ruins, Renaissance art, and the heart of Catholicism.

Morning: Colosseum Archaeological Park

Begin your journey at the Colosseum, which once hosted gladiatorial contests and public spectacles.

Next, explore the Palatine Hill, the centermost of Rome's seven hills. Legend has it that Romulus founded Rome here in 753 BC: today, it is an open-air museum showcasing ruins of imperial palaces.

Conclude the morning at the Roman Forum, once the heart of ancient Rome. For centuries, this was the center of public life, hosting everything from political speeches to criminal trials.

Lunch: Taste of Roman Cuisine

Enjoy a lunch break at a local restaurant, savoring traditional Roman dishes, such as pasta alla carbonara or saltimbocca alla romana.

Afternoon: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel

Post-lunch, delve into the Vatican Museums, home to one of the world's most extensive art collections. Traverse the Pio Clementino Hall, featuring the Apollo Belvedere, a sculpture that greatly influenced Renaissance art.

In the Gallery of Maps, admire 16th-century topographical maps of Italy, a testament to Renaissance cartography. The tour culminates in the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo's frescoes adorn the ceiling.

Late Afternoon: St. Peter's Basilica from the outside and Square

Your day concludes at St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world. If you decide to have a visit on your own, marvel at Michelangelo's Pietà, sculpted when he was just 24, and Bernini's baldachin, standing 29 meters tall.

The tour will include an explanation of the Basilica from outside.

In St. Peter's Square, admire Bernini's colonnade, designed to embrace visitors like "the maternal arms of Mother Church."

A Day At The Vatican With Papal Audience & Lunch

Discover the Heart of Catholicism: From Papal Blessing to Artistic Marvels
Experience an extraordinary day in Vatican City, the world's smallest sovereign state, combining spiritual enlightenment with artistic wonder.

Morning: Papal Audience

Your day begins early in the morning as you attend the Papal Audience, a rare opportunity to see the Pope in person. This tradition, dating back to the early Church, allows the faithful to receive the Pope's blessing.

The pope will be passing by the faithful on his Popemobile, on his way to the podium in front of St. Peter’s Basilica, from where will be delivering his message and finally give the Papal Blessing.

Lunch: Taste of Roman Cuisine

Following the Papal Audience, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.  While drinks are not included, you might consider trying local specialties like pasta alla carbonara or saltimbocca alla romana.

Afternoon: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel

After lunch, you will explore the Vatican Museums, home to one of the world's most extensive art collections: the museums contain approximately 70,000 works, of which only 20,000 are on display.

In the Pio Clementino Hall, you will see the Laocoön Group and the Apollo Belvedere, once considered the greatest ancient sculpture.

The Gallery of Maps, created in 1580, features topographical maps of Italy, offering a unique 16th-century perspective of the country, while the Gallery of Tapestries houses Flemish tapestries woven by Raphael's pupils.

The tour's highlight is the Sistine Chapel, where you can admire Michelangelo’s world-famous frescoes.

Late Afternoon: St. Peter's Basilica from the outside and Square

Your journey concludes with a visit to St. Peter's Basilica from the outside, the largest church in the world. Here, if you decide to have a visit on your own, you will see Michelangelo's Pietà, sculpted when he was just 24, and Bernini's baldachin, which stands 29 meters tall.

City centre stroll

Discover the Baroque Splendor and Renaissance Marvels of Central Rome
Embark on a captivating journey through the artistic core of the Eternal City, exploring some of Rome's most celebrated landmarks and hidden gems.

Piazza Navona and San Luigi dei Francesi

Your tour begins in Largo Torre Argentina, site of Julius Caesar's assassination in 44 BC. From here, you will proceed to Piazza Navona, Rome's most elegant square. Built on the site of Emperor Domitian's stadium, it still retains its oval shape. Admire Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, a masterpiece featuring personifications of the Nile, Ganges, Danube, and Río de la Plata.

Next, visit the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi, home to Caravaggio's St. Matthew cycle, which showcases Caravaggio's revolutionary use of chiaroscuro and his ability to capture intense moments of drama.

The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps

Continue to the Pantheon, an architectural marvel that has stood for nearly 2000 years. The oculus, a 9-meter opening at the dome's apex, is the building's only source of natural light. If the Pantheon is closed or inaccessible, an external explanation can be included.

Your journey proceeds to the Trevi Fountain, Rome's largest Baroque fountain, featured in numerous films, most famously in Fellini's "La Dolce Vita," where the tradition of throwing coins into the water dates back to ancient Rome.

The tour concludes at Piazza di Spagna, dominated by the Spanish Steps. This 135-step staircase connects the square to the Church of Trinità dei Monti. At the square's base, admire Bernini's Barcaccia fountain, designed to resemble a half-sunken ship.

Pompeii highlights

Uncover the Secrets of Ancient Pompeii in a Day
Experience an exclusive journey through time as you explore the remarkably preserved ruins of Pompeii, offering a unique window into daily life in the Roman Empire.

Morning: Guided Tour of Pompeii

Your adventure starts early in the morning, when you depart from Rome. Upon arrival in Pompeii, you will embark on a comprehensive 3-hour guided tour of the excavations. Your knowledgeable local guide will take you beyond the standard tourist route, revealing the most fascinating and important sites of this ancient city.

Visit the Villa of the Mysteries, named for its enigmatic frescoes depicting the initiation rites of a Greco-Roman mystery cult.

Explore the Amphitheatre, the oldest known Roman amphitheater in existence, dating back to 70 BC. It could hold up to 20,000 spectators and is remarkably well-preserved.

The Colosseum also featured a complex system of elevators and trapdoors, allowing for dramatic entrances of gladiators and wild beasts.
